Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called for closer coordination between Pakistan and Türkiye ahead of the upcoming Joint Commission and the eighth High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council session.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar made the remarks during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroğlu on Friday.
The meeting reviewed progress under various bilateral mechanisms. The discussions also focused on expanding cooperation across several areas following recent high-level engagements between the two countries.
Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Türkiye in key areas of mutual interest.

Dar stressed the need for relevant departments to coordinate closely ahead of the upcoming Joint Commission and the eighth session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

He said stronger coordination would help both countries advance their bilateral agenda and improve cooperation through existing institutional mechanisms.
The two sides also discussed the evolving regional situation.
Dar said dialogue and diplomacy remained the viable path to resolving disputes and promoting lasting peace, stability and prosperity.
Dar Discusses Pakistan-UK Relations
Separately, Dar met British High Commissioner Jane Marriott to discuss Pakistan-United Kingdom relations.
The meeting also covered understandings reached during Dar’s visit to the UK in August.
According to the Foreign Office, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Dar highlighted the importance of maintaining sustained high-level engagement between Pakistan and the UK.
The foreign minister and the British high commissioner also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
