According to sources, PTI leaders wanted in various cases, including those linked to the November 2024 D-Chowk protest, are likely to face arrest as authorities move to execute the outstanding warrants.
Sources said warrants issued against Junaid Akbar and Abdul Ghani in cases related to the D-Chowk protest will be enforced. Court warrants against Shibli Faraz, Murad Saeed and Hammad Azhar in cases registered at the Judicial Complex will also be acted upon.
Zartaj Gul, Aamir Masood Mughal, Dr Amjad Ali and Meena Khan Afridi are among other PTI leaders wanted in different cases registered in Islamabad.
Authorities have also decided to proceed with legal action against Ali Amin Gandapur and Umar Tanveer Butt in connection with the Faizabad protest case, according to sources.
The possible arrests will be based on previously registered FIRs and court-issued warrants, sources said.
Islamabad Police has been directed to enforce the outstanding court warrants against PTI leaders in accordance with the law. The warrants relate to cases registered at different police stations in the capital.
