Imran Khan Hospital Transfer The Supreme Court has again rejected a request for an early hearing of a contempt petition filed by Imran Khan’s sister, Uzma Khan, over the non-implementation of an order directing the PTI founder’s transfer to a private hospital.
Uzma Khan had approached the Supreme Court after authorities did not transfer Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad as directed in the court’s August 18 order.
She asked the court to schedule the contempt petition for an urgent hearing, preferably during the current week or the following week.
Supreme Court order on medical treatment
Two weeks earlier, the Supreme Court had directed authorities to transfer Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
The court had also ordered the formation of a special medical board to assess his health. Under the order, his personal physician, Dr Faisal Sultan, and his sister, Dr Uzma Khan, could accompany him during his hospital stay.

However, authorities transferred Imran Khan to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on the night of August 20-21 for medical examinations and treatment.
Two specialists from Shifa International Hospital took part in his eye examination, while other specialists at PIMS conducted additional medical tests.
After the medical assessment, authorities transferred Imran Khan back to Adiala Jail.
Petition seeks implementation of order
According to Uzma Khan’s petition, the Supreme Court registrar’s office initially rejected her request for an early hearing. She subsequently brought the matter before the court again.
The petition argued that Imran Khan’s health was deteriorating during his detention and urged authorities to implement the Supreme Court’s August 18 directive.
She also called for his transfer to Shifa International Hospital for further medical examination and treatment.
Hearing scheduled for September 16
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has already scheduled the main case concerning Imran Khan’s transfer to a hospital for September 16.
The contempt petition filed by Uzma Khan will also be heard on the same date.
The court’s proceedings will determine whether the authorities complied with the earlier directive and address the concerns raised over the PTI founder’s medical treatment.
