Saifee Hospital Cardiac Wing: The Dawoodi Bohra community’s Saifee Hospital has inaugurated a new 11-storey Cardiac Wing in Karachi, significantly expanding access to specialised cardiovascular treatment and modern heart care facilities.

The inauguration ceremony, held on August 29, 2026, was attended by Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, government officials, diplomats, doctors, healthcare professionals and members of the business community.

His Eminence Shahzada Qusai Vajihuddin, brother of His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, represented His Holiness at the ceremony.

Leaders praise new healthcare facility

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah congratulated the Dawoodi Bohra community on establishing the new facility, describing it as an important addition to Karachi’s healthcare infrastructure.

He said the Cardiac Wing, equipped with modern medical facilities, would provide the public with improved access to high-quality treatment for heart-related diseases.

The chief minister also praised the Dawoodi Bohra community’s contribution to the healthcare sector and described the project as an important example of service to humanity.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb praised the community’s wider contribution to society and described the new cardiac facility as a valuable addition to Karachi.

He said such healthcare initiatives could benefit communities for years to come and expressed confidence that the facility would provide an example for similar projects elsewhere in Pakistan.

International-standard cardiac care

Shahzada Qusai Vajihuddin welcomed the guests and highlighted the vision of His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin to develop healthcare facilities that meet high international standards.

He encouraged people to benefit from the medical services available at the facility and stressed the importance of collective efforts towards Pakistan’s progress and development.

The newly inaugurated Cardiac Wing has been purpose-designed to provide a complete range of cardiovascular services.

These include emergency cardiac treatment, specialist consultations, advanced diagnostic services, interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery, critical care and rehabilitation.

The foundation of the 11-storey facility was laid in early 2022. Its completion significantly increases Saifee Hospital’s capacity to provide specialised cardiac treatment supported by new-generation medical equipment and modern clinical systems.

Continuing healthcare legacy

Saifee Hospital is a multi-speciality healthcare institution established by the late Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin in memory of his father, the late Syedna Taher Saifuddin.

The hospital’s development has continued under the vision and guidance of Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, with a focus on modern infrastructure, specialised clinical services, professional development and quality patient care.

The new Cardiac Wing represents a major milestone in the Dawoodi Bohra community’s contribution to Pakistan’s healthcare and social development sectors.

The initiative also forms part of a broader healthcare approach that promotes healthy lifestyles and preventive care alongside timely diagnosis, specialised treatment and rehabilitation.

With the addition of the new facility, Saifee Hospital aims to strengthen its ability to provide comprehensive cardiovascular services to patients in Karachi and beyond.
