Students from the Biomedical Engineering Department created the “Rescue Rhythm CPR Training Assistant” to help trainees learn the correct CPR technique.

The device monitors chest compressions in real time and immediately indicates whether the pressure applied is correct, too weak or too strong.
Real-Time Feedback Improves Training
The training assistant features a display screen, colour-coded indicators and an audible buzzer to guide users throughout each CPR session.
In addition, the system counts chest compressions and evaluates the overall accuracy of the training, helping users improve their performance.
The project was developed by Kashish Imam, Musfira Kamran, Rahul Mushtaq and Muhammad Imaduddin under the supervision of Engineer Syeda Tehreem Qamar.
Potential to Support Healthcare Training
Engineer Rida Fatima, Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, said wider CPR training could help save countless lives during cardiac arrests, accidents and other medical emergencies.
She added that hospitals, nursing colleges, first-aid training centres and emergency rescue organisations could use the device for practical training.
Project Showcased at Exhibition
The students presented the innovation at the Aligarh Institute of Technology Project Exhibition 2026.
The project attracted strong interest from doctors, academics, industry experts and other visitors, highlighting its potential to strengthen emergency medical training in Pakistan.
