Argentina Helicopter Crash claimed seven lives after a Bell 412 firefighting helicopter crashed in the western province of San Juan on Wednesday, local authorities confirmed.

According to officials, the aircraft supported wildfire response operations in Ischigualasto Natural Park. Later, the crew headed toward the neighboring province of La Rioja to assist firefighters battling another forest fire.
Governor Confirms Seven Deaths
Meanwhile, San Juan Governor Marcelo Orrego confirmed the accident and expressed his condolences.
“With profound sorrow we received the news of the helicopter accident that occurred in our province, in which seven people sadly lost their lives,” he wrote on X.
Furthermore, the victims included firefighters, police officers and civil protection personnel who were responding to the emergency.
Helicopter Lost Contact Mid-Flight
According to emergency services, the helicopter lost contact with its operations base on Wednesday morning.
Shortly afterward, rescue teams located the crash site and confirmed that everyone on board had died.
Authorities Begin Investigation
Following the crash, authorities launched an investigation to determine what caused the accident.
In addition, investigators are examining the helicopter’s final flight path and reviewing operational records.
Meanwhile, emergency crews continue wildfire response operations across the affected region.
