Farewell Dinner guests gathered in Karachi as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Fazal Karim Dadabhoy, hosted a reception to honour the outgoing Consul General of Malaysia, Herman Hardynata Ahmad, and the Consul General of Iraq, Maher Mjhid Jejan.

Sindh Governor Advocate Nihal Hashmi attended the event and said Pakistan places great importance on its relations with friendly countries. He expressed hope that both diplomats would return to Pakistan in the future with greater diplomatic responsibilities.
The governor praised the services of the outgoing consuls general and said they had made valuable contributions to strengthening bilateral relations. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation and friendship with partner nations.
Meanwhile, host Fazal Karim Dadabhoy commended both diplomats for promoting mutual understanding, diplomatic cooperation and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and their respective countries.
He said the two consuls general had strengthened bilateral ties during their tenure and expressed confidence that they would always remember the warmth and hospitality of the Pakistani people.
Outgoing Malaysian Consul General Herman Hardynata Ahmad described his diplomatic posting in Pakistan as a memorable experience. He thanked the people of Pakistan for their kindness, generosity and support throughout his tenure.
Furthermore, the Consul General of China and Senator Waqar Mehdi addressed the gathering. They praised the diplomats’ services and wished them success in their future assignments.
The event also brought together the Acting Consul of Kuwait, Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Azad Khan, senior politician Nisar Khuhro, diplomats from several countries, senior government officials, business leaders and members of civil society.
In addition, participants paid tribute to the outgoing diplomats and highlighted their role in strengthening international friendship. They described the gathering as a reflection of Pakistan’s positive diplomatic engagement and its continued commitment to promoting goodwill with friendly nations.
