Rotary Pakistan marked a historic milestone with the launch of From 1927 to Pakistan 2027: 100 Years of Rotary Service in Pakistan, the first comprehensive anthology documenting Rotary’s century-long humanitarian journey in the country.

The book was formally unveiled during the Rotary International District 3271 Installation Ceremony 2026–27, where Shahzad Sabir assumed office as District Governor. The launch was attended by Jennifer A. Scott, Rotary International Director for 2025–27, who served as the chief guest.

Anthologised by Past President (PP) Syed Kashif Rafi, the publication chronicles Rotary’s history in Pakistan, highlighting decades of humanitarian service, leadership, fellowship and community development.

The project was completed under the leadership of District Governor 2025–26 Shakeel Kaim Khani after more than a year of archival research, historical documentation and storytelling. The book traces Rotary’s journey from 1927, when the first Rotary club in present-day Pakistan was chartered in Lahore, to the organisation’s centenary in 2027.

Speaking at the launch, Syed Kashif Rafi described the anthology as more than a historical record, calling it a tribute to generations of Rotarians who have embraced the ideal of “Service Above Self.” He said the publication preserves stories of compassion and selfless service while inspiring future generations to continue Rotary’s humanitarian mission.

Past Rotary International Director (PRID) Muhammad Faiz Kidwai praised the initiative, describing the book as a lasting contribution that preserves Rotary’s heritage in Pakistan for future generations.

Past District Governor (PDG) Muhammad Iqbal Qureshi, who served as the project’s patron, said the publication would serve as a guide for future Rotarians as they enter Rotary’s second century of service in Pakistan.

The editorial and research team included Syed Tahzeeb Kazmi, Waqar Ahmed Shaikh, Kishwar Allawala and Atiqua Vally, while the team also honoured the late Colonel Sajid Baseer for his contribution to the project. The anthology has been published by the Rotary Humanitarian Trust.

Organisers described the book as a living archive that safeguards Rotary’s legacy while encouraging future members to build on a century of humanitarian service and community impact across Pakistan.
