Islamabad/Karachi: Foreign diplomats posted in Pakistan have extended warm Ramadan greetings to the people of the country, underscoring themes of peace, compassion and strengthened bilateral ties during the holy month.

Messages from the Australian High Commission, the German Consulate and the Indonesian Consulate highlighted the spiritual significance of Ramadan and reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to friendship and cooperation with Pakistan.

Australia Highlights Multicultural Bonds

In a statement marking the beginning of Ramadan, Timothy Kane, Australia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, conveyed his warm wishes to the people of Pakistan.

He noted that Australia is one of the world’s most multicultural societies, with more than 800,000 Muslims contributing to national life. He also acknowledged the Pakistani-Australian community, numbering over 140,000, for its role in strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

“Ramadan Mubarak — may this month deepen the friendship between Australia and Pakistan,” he said.

Germany Calls for Reflection and Reconciliation

Meanwhile, Thomas E. Schultze, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, described Ramadan as a time for reflection, compassion and reconciliation.

In his message, he referred to ongoing global conflicts and challenges, noting that the holy month’s emphasis on solidarity and empathy carries particular importance amid distressing developments in various parts of the world.

“My thoughts are especially with those whose lives have been overshadowed by crisis,” he said, expressing hope that Ramadan would inspire renewed commitment to peace and mutual understanding.

Indonesia Emphasises Faith and Friendship

In Karachi, Mudzakir, Consul General of Indonesia, extended greetings to the people of Sindh and Pakistan on behalf of the Government and people of Indonesia.

He described Ramadan as a profound period for spiritual reflection, patience and global solidarity. Calling the holy month a “bridge of faith and friendship” between Indonesia and Pakistan, he urged communities to embrace compassion and brotherhood.

The Indonesian envoy expressed hopes for a peaceful and blessed Ramadan filled with health and prosperity.

Shared Message of Peace

The coordinated messages from foreign missions reflect the broader diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and its international partners. As Ramadan begins, envoys emphasised unity, interfaith harmony and the enduring bonds between nations.
