Diplomats and Business Leaders Attend Grand Opening Celebrating Thai Cuisine and Cultural Exchange

KARACHI: Surashete Boontinand officially inaugurated Sukhumvit, a new authentic Thai restaurant in Karachi, during a grand ceremony attended by diplomats, business leaders and members of the Pak-Thai community.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Consuls-General of Japan, Malaysia, Iraq, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Germany, along with executive members of the Pak-Thai Friendship Association and Business Forum and prominent figures from the business community.

Speaking at the event, Surashete Boontinand appreciated restaurant owner Moiz Kamal for his dedication to introducing authentic Thai cuisine to Pakistani audiences.

He said initiatives by the private sector played an important role in strengthening cultural exchange and enhancing people-to-people connections between Pakistan and Thailand.

During the event, Moiz Kamal shared that the restaurant uses fresh Thai herbs and ingredients imported directly from Thailand to preserve the originality and quality of its dishes.

“Respect for the original recipe and consistency in using the finest ingredients” is the secret behind Sukhumvit’s authentic flavors, he said.

The Royal Thai Consulate-General Karachi welcomed the growing interest in Thai culinary traditions in Pakistan and encouraged further initiatives promoting cultural and social ties between the two countries.

The evening featured traditional Thai cuisine, hospitality and cultural interaction, reflecting the strengthening relationship between Pakistan and Thailand.
