Seafood Exports: New Floating Jetty to Support Fishermen at Korangi Fish Harbour

KARACHI: Seafood exports could receive a boost as the newly constructed floating jetty at Korangi Fish Harbour provides local fishermen with a safer and more hygienic facility to land their catch.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Korangi Fish Harbour Authority, Asim Abrar, visited the newly constructed facility. The jetty aims to address longstanding difficulties faced by fishermen who lacked a proper landing point for their catch.

The new facility will particularly support small-scale fishermen. It will allow them to offload seafood more efficiently while reducing handling problems that can affect freshness and market value.
