Karachi: Digital entertainment platform tapmad hosted a grand trailer launch event for its highly anticipated original series Shamsher at the Pearl Continental Hotel’s Zaver Hall in Karachi. The emotionally charged evening celebrated the convergence of entertainment, sports, and national heritage.

Cast, Creators, and Hockey Legends Shine at Launch

The event featured appearances by the series’ leading cast members Farhan Saeed, Hareem Farooq, Behroze Sabzwari, and Umer Aalam, along with producer Nina Kashif and director Shehrazade Sheikh. A special tribute was held in honor of Pakistan’s hockey legends, including Qamar Ibrahim, Sameer Hussain, and current national team captain Amad Butt, highlighting the show’s deep connection with Pakistan’s sporting legacy.

Shamsher Aims to Reignite National Passion for Hockey

The event’s panel discussion spotlighted the cultural impact of hockey in Pakistan and its fading presence in mainstream media. Farhan Saeed expressed his hope that Shamsher would revive interest in the sport, saying, “When I learned the show was about hockey, it was an immediate yes. I hope this series brings the sport back into the national conversation.”

Hareem Farooq shared her newfound appreciation for Pakistan’s achievements in hockey, admitting, “I didn’t know we had so many milestones. It’s embarrassing how little we’ve been taught, and I’m proud to be part of a project that aims to change that.”

A Vision of Storytelling Rooted in Legacy

Producer Nina Kashif emphasized the emotional and cultural layers behind Shamsher, stating, “This series is about more than sport; it’s about identity, legacy, and pride. We’re honored to bring this story to life on tapmad.”

Zain Pasha, Deputy CEO of tapmad Entertainment, highlighted the platform’s commitment to original storytelling: “At tapmad, we aim to create stories that resonate with Pakistani audiences. Shamsher is a milestone project that reflects our national pride and storytelling ambitions.”

Red Carpet Buzz and Social Media Excitement

The launch event was attended by leading celebrities, media figures, and industry professionals. The trailer premiere was met with applause and admiration, while social media buzzed with red carpet moments, behind-the-scenes footage, and fan excitement for the upcoming release.

Shamsher will premiere exclusively on tapmad on June 13, 2025, and will be available for streaming across Pakistan.

With Shamsher, tapmad continues to set new benchmarks for local entertainment, combining compelling narratives with authentic Pakistani themes and a strong focus on national revival.
