KARACHI, September 29, 2026: Interest among Pakistani businesses in the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2026 is gaining momentum, with 45 businesspeople registering through the Consulate General of Indonesia in Karachi for the upcoming trade event in Jakarta.
Around 20 businesses have been selected to receive delegation facilities coordinated by the Consulate General. The selection was based on previous import and business performance, engagement with Indonesia, business potential and alignment with sectors represented at TEI 2026.
Other registered participants will also be able to attend the expo under their own arrangements.

The participants come from Karachi and other parts of Sindh, including Hyderabad and Nawabshah, highlighting growing interest in Indonesian products and business opportunities among the province’s business community.
Ahead of the delegation’s visit, the Consulate General held a Pre-Departure Technical Meeting and Business Lunch in Karachi on Tuesday. The meeting focused on final preparations, business matching, participation arrangements and commercial opportunities available during TEI 2026.
Indonesian Consul General in Karachi Mudzakir, M.A., said the mission would focus on achieving concrete business outcomes rather than simply increasing the number of delegates or meetings.
“We hope new contacts will develop into real business relationships, inquiries will move into serious negotiations, and existing partnerships will grow further,” he said.
The Consulate said the approach is intended to encourage participating businesses to attend the expo with clear commercial objectives and engage with Indonesian companies relevant to their sourcing and investment interests.
The 2026 mission builds on the results of last year’s Trade Expo Indonesia. TEI 2025 generated $22.8 billion in transactions and attracted more than 34,000 visitors and over 8,000 international buyers, according to the Indonesian Consulate.
Sindh businesses also secured significant commercial opportunities at TEI 2025. A 25-member delegation coordinated by the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi secured around $22.9 million in trade agreements covering commodities, automotive parts, textiles and fashion, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, food and beverages.
For TEI 2026, the Consulate General is arranging around 200 targeted business-to-business meetings between Pakistani importers and Indonesian companies. Participants will be matched with prospective suppliers and business partners based on their profiles and sourcing interests.

TEI 2026 will feature export-oriented sectors including food and beverages, agricultural products, consumer goods, manufacturing, furniture and home décor, beauty and healthcare, as well as digital products and services.
The exhibition will be held from October 14 to 18, 2026, at ICE BSD City in Greater Jakarta.
The Pakistani delegation is also expected to attend the Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) in Jakarta, providing additional opportunities to explore Indonesia’s halal and sharia economy and engage with relevant business stakeholders.
Consul General Mudzakir will accompany the Pakistani delegation and participate in key programmes in Indonesia, particularly those involving business representatives from Sindh. The Consulate’s economic team will facilitate meetings and follow-up engagement with prospective Indonesian partners.
Building on the commercial results achieved last year, the 2026 mission aims to translate growing Pakistani interest in Indonesian products into concrete and sustainable business partnerships. Some delegation members also appreciated the Consulate’s pre-departure technical meeting for providing practical information ahead of the expo.
