Karachi: A high-level review meeting on ongoing and new development projects was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, where the progress, funding status, timely completion, and provision of public facilities across the province were discussed in detail.

The meeting was attended by Mayor Sukkur Arslan Islam Sheikh, Additional Chief Secretary Local Government Waseem Shamshad, and senior officials of relevant departments. Officials briefed the meeting on development schemes in various districts, including road infrastructure, flyovers, underpasses, drainage systems, and urban improvement projects.

Addressing the meeting, the provincial minister emphasized that timely completion of ongoing development schemes remains the top priority of the Sindh government. He warned that any negligence or delay in this regard would not be tolerated and directed officials to further accelerate the pace of work to ensure swift resolution of public issues.

He noted that development activities are progressing rapidly across the province, with several projects nearing completion. Key infrastructure projects, including flyovers, underpasses, and road rehabilitation works, are being executed at an accelerated pace, the impact of which will soon be visible to the public.

Syed Nasir Hussain Shah further stated that development projects will be given special priority in the fiscal year 2026–27 budget. He added that a proposal is under consideration to ensure full funding allocation for timely completion so that continuity in development work is maintained.

He said that under the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the government is committed to providing public services at citizens’ doorstep and resolving urban issues on a long-term basis.

The minister also directed officials to strengthen the solid waste management system at the union council and town levels to improve monitoring and ensure effective cleanliness operations at the grassroots level.

Officials informed the meeting that several projects are progressing rapidly and are likely to be completed before their scheduled deadlines. The minister expressed confidence that once completed, these projects will significantly improve urban infrastructure and enhance public service delivery across Sindh.
