Shehbaz Sharif delivers Islamic New Year message
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed warm wishes to the people of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah at the beginning of the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijri. His message focused on peace, prosperity, and long-term stability across different regions of the world. Moreover, he expressed hope that the year ahead would strengthen harmony and mutual respect.
The prime minister said the Islamic New Year should inspire goodwill and progress for humanity. He noted that peaceful coexistence and respect for human life remain essential values. Therefore, he encouraged communities to promote understanding and cooperation during the coming year.
In his remarks, Shehbaz Sharif reportedly linked current global challenges with the need for diplomacy and dialogue. He welcomed what he described as a positive move toward the peaceful resolution of tensions involving Iran and the United States.
According to his message, Pakistan played a constructive role in encouraging peace efforts. He stated that dialogue and mutual understanding reflect principles connected to Islamic teachings and the example of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). As a result, he emphasized continued engagement through peaceful means.
Shehbaz Sharif said the Islamic New Year serves as a reminder of the historic Hijrah. He explained that the event established values of justice, equality, brotherhood, faith, and service to humanity. Furthermore, he noted that these principles continue to influence societies today.
He added that Hijrah teaches lessons of sacrifice, discipline, unity, and collective responsibility. Therefore, he encouraged people to apply those values while addressing modern challenges. He stated that national and global progress depends on shared responsibility and constructive action.
The prime minister also paid tribute during Muharram-ul-Haram and honored the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in the Battle of Karbala. He stated that their resistance against oppression remains an enduring example of courage and justice.
In addition, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for global Muslim causes. He called for solidarity with oppressed communities, particularly in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He also encouraged continued efforts to raise awareness through international engagement.
Shehbaz Sharif encouraged citizens to promote honesty, diligence, tolerance, and mutual respect. He stated that national unity remains essential for sustainable development and long-term progress. Moreover, he urged collective effort to strengthen social and economic stability.
Concluding his message, the prime minister prayed for a blessed Islamic New Year. He expressed hope for peace, prosperity, and success for Pakistan, the Muslim world, and humanity as a whole.
