SCO Summit preparations are moving forward as Pakistan prepares to host the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s Council of Heads of State meeting next year.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review the arrangements.
Dar expressed satisfaction with the progress so far. However, he directed all relevant institutions to complete the remaining work on time.
He said Pakistan remains committed to hosting the SCO meetings successfully. He also called for arrangements that meet the highest standards.
Close Coordination Stressed
Dar stressed the need for close coordination among government institutions. He said effective cooperation would help ensure smooth and well-organised SCO proceedings.

Meanwhile, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman briefed the meeting on ongoing development and infrastructure projects.
The projects form part of Pakistan’s preparations to host the summit. Therefore, authorities are working to complete the required facilities within the given timeframe.
Senior Officials Attend
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa also attended the meeting. Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch and Interior Secretary Ahmad Raza Sarwar were present as well.
The CDA chairman, National Coordinator SCO and senior officials from relevant ministries also participated.
The meeting reviewed progress on key preparations. Officials also discussed coordination between institutions to ensure Pakistan hosts the summit smoothly.
Pakistan’s preparations will continue ahead of the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting next year.
