The PMSA led a coordinated humanitarian operation to assist and repatriate eight Iranian nationals rescued at sea, underscoring Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to maritime safety and regional cooperation.
The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) confirmed that the individuals were rescued by the vessel MMA Valour during a sea incident. They were later transferred for further assistance under official supervision in Karachi.
Pakistan Maritime Security Agency coordinated the reception process, which included documentation, medical screening and arrangements for repatriation.
Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan Navy and Federal Investigation Agency also participated in the operation. Representatives from the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran were present to assist in the repatriation process.
Authorities said the rescued individuals were provided immediate humanitarian support in line with international maritime safety protocols. The operation ensured medical care and safe processing before their onward return.
PMSA said the mission reflects strong coordination between national and international stakeholders in responding to emergencies at sea. The agency emphasized that safety of life at sea remains its highest priority.
The agency, which serves as Pakistan’s principal maritime law enforcement body, regularly conducts search and rescue operations within Pakistan’s maritime zones.
Officials added that continued cooperation with regional partners remains essential to strengthening maritime security and humanitarian response mechanisms in the region
