Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday praised the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and China during a meeting with a Chinese business delegation in Islamabad.
The delegation included 11 members and was led by Qian Xiaojun, the founder and president of IBI Beijing United Technology.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif described Pakistan and China as all-weather strategic cooperative partners with historic ties.
The prime minister also praised China’s economic progress under the leadership of Xi Jinping.
He said he was looking forward to visiting China later this month.
During the meeting, the prime minister welcomed stronger business-to-business cooperation between the two countries.
He said IBI’s interest in Pakistan’s digital economy was an encouraging sign for future investment and industrial growth.
Qian Xiaojun expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economy and investment potential.
He said IBI planned to help support the country’s digital transformation.
He also announced plans to establish the company’s Digital Economy headquarters in Pakistan.
According to Xiaojun, the headquarters would serve as a central hub for digital projects and trade cooperation.
He added that the initiative could create new opportunities for Pakistani small and medium-sized businesses by connecting them with the Chinese market.
The delegation’s visit followed the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference held in Beijing in September 2025.
The conference took place during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to China.
