PM Shahbaz Sharif Praises China's Support and Highlights CPEC Phase 2 at China’s 75th Founding Day Ceremony

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif thanked China for its ongoing support during IMF negotiations. He spoke about the potential for cooperation in technology, minerals, and other important areas at the ceremony for China’s 75th founding day .
In his speech, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated the Chinese government and its people. Recognizing China as a global superpower, he stated that the world needs China to move forward. Furthermore, he described the friendship between Pakistan and China as “higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the sea.”
Reflecting on his recent visit to China, the Prime Minister appreciated the warm welcome from President Xi Jinping and other leaders. He assured the audience that the relationship between the two countries is strong. Additionally, Shahbaz Sharif expressed gratitude for China’s support during IMF talks, which helped stabilize Pakistan’s economy.
Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace and development. The Prime Minister emphasized that the country shares a vision with President Xi Jinping. In this context, he reiterated support for China on issues like Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Exciting news emerged as the Prime Minister announced that the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will start soon. This phase is expected to boost Pakistan’s economy by increasing cooperation in agriculture, IT, and mineral resources.
Looking ahead, Shahbaz Sharif mentioned that Pakistan eagerly anticipates the Chinese Prime Minister’s visit next month. The Chinese leader will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) programs and hold meetings to strengthen ties.
Chinese Ambassador Xiang Zedong also spoke at the event, praising President Xi Jinping’s leadership. He highlighted that China has transformed from a struggling society into a prosperous one. Moreover, he stressed that China’s development connects with the rest of the world.
To conclude the event, President Asif Ali Zardari also addressed the crowd. Both he and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif received a warm welcome. The national anthems of both countries played during the event, and they cut a cake together to celebrate the occasion.
