Petroleum Supply PM Shehbaz Orders Action Against Artificial Fuel Shortages

Petroleum Supply remained stable as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered strict action against those creating artificial fuel shortages. Meanwhile, he directed authorities to stay prepared for any challenges linked to regional tensions.

The prime minister chaired a high-level meeting to review the impact of regional developments on Pakistan’s economy. During the meeting, he said the country’s economy remained stable by the grace of Allah. However, he stressed the need for a comprehensive strategy to address future risks.

Officials told the meeting that Pakistan has sufficient petroleum reserves. Moreover, they said current stocks can meet domestic demand. Additionally, they outlined measures to maintain uninterrupted fuel supplies.

Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the government’s timely response. According to him, the strategy helped maintain fuel availability across the country. As a result, consumers remained protected from market disruptions.

The prime minister said the government supported ordinary citizens through targeted subsidies. In addition, motorcyclists, rickshaw drivers and transport operators also benefited from the relief.

He instructed federal and provincial authorities to work together. Furthermore, he ordered strict action against anyone creating artificial shortages of petroleum products.

Shehbaz Sharif thanked the public for supporting the government’s austerity campaign. At the same time, he urged citizens to continue adopting simple and responsible spending habits.

He also appreciated public participation in the national fuel and energy conservation campaign. Accordingly, he described it as a valuable contribution to Pakistan’s economic resilience.

Finally, the prime minister warned that rising regional tensions could affect Pakistan’s economy. Therefore, he directed all relevant institutions to remain alert and fully prepared.

The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ali Pervaiz Malik and Awais Khan Leghari. Besides them, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, Special Assistant Tariq Bajwa, State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmed and senior officials also attended.
