Pakistan’s Counsellor and Political Coordinator, Gul Qaiser Sarwani, expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian and security situation in the region. He said the reported ethnically motivated killings and destruction of civilian infrastructure demand urgent international attention.

Furthermore, Sarwani warned that any further escalation, including a possible RSF offensive against El Obeid, could lead to additional serious international crimes.

He also stressed that those responsible for atrocity crimes must face justice. In addition, he said individuals and groups that finance, facilitate or enable such crimes should also be held accountable.

Meanwhile, Pakistan reaffirmed its support for Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. Sarwani said the people of Sudan deserve peace, justice and dignity.

Moreover, he urged the international community to pursue justice objectively, impartially and without double standards. According to him, the credibility of international justice depends on the equal and consistent application of the law.
