Pakistan–Türkiye Partnership: Bukhari Group, Ibni Sina Institute Sign Landmark MoU to Boost Medical Tourism

Medical Tourism received a major boost after Bukhari Group of Companies and Türkiye’s Ibni Sina Institute signed a strategic partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Karachi to expand bilateral cooperation in healthcare, investment and innovation.

The agreement was signed at the Bukhari Group Head Office on July 27, 2026. Brig. (R) Sardar Sajjad Hussain, Group CEO of Bukhari Group, and Dr. Kemal Aydın, President of the Ibni Sina Institute, led the signing ceremony.

The partnership seeks to strengthen Pakistan–Türkiye cooperation in medical tourism, healthy ageing, longevity, digital health, telemedicine, medical education, healthcare investment and sustainable healthcare development.

The ceremony brought together senior government officials, healthcare professionals, academics, business leaders, civil society representatives and members of the media.

Managing Director of Sindh Tourism, Fayaz Ali Shah, attended as the chief guest. He said Pakistan has strong potential to become a regional medical tourism destination. He also stressed that international partnerships can improve healthcare services, attract foreign investment and promote wellness tourism.

Dr. Kemal Aydın said the agreement marks a new chapter in Pakistan–Türkiye relations. He added that both countries share deep historical ties and can expand cooperation through healthcare diplomacy, scientific research and innovation.

Brig. (R) Sardar Sajjad Hussain said the partnership reflects Bukhari Group’s vision of positioning Pakistan as a leading destination for medical tourism and healthcare innovation. He added that both organizations will work together under the Silk Road vision, the D-8 platform and other international initiatives.

Under the MoU, both institutions will jointly develop the Pakistan–Türkiye Medical Tourism Corridor. They will also collaborate on healthy ageing programmes, hospital-at-home services, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, digital health, healthcare investment, professional training, academic research and institutional partnerships.

The agreement also includes plans to exchange doctors, researchers and students. In addition, both sides will organize international conferences, scientific forums and healthcare exhibitions to strengthen regional cooperation.

The partners also announced support for global initiatives, including the Silk Road Health Initiative, the World Healthy Ageing Conference, the World Longevity Forum, the Health, Ageing, Development and Environment (HADE) Forum and future D-8 health and medical tourism programmes.

Both organizations said the strategic alliance will encourage healthcare innovation, attract investment and expand international cooperation while contributing to sustainable development and improving healthcare services in Pakistan and Türkiye.
