Iran Hails Houthi Red Sea Advance as ‘Divine Triumph’

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has praised Yemen’s Houthi forces following their reported seizure of the country’s Red Sea coast, calling the advance a “divine triumph”.

IRGC spokesman Sardar Mohebi said the development reflected years of resistance by the Iran-aligned group despite fighting in some of Yemen’s most challenging battlefields.

“The advance represents a divine triumph and the fruit of years of steadfastness,” Mohebi said in a post on X.

Other Iranian officials have also welcomed the reported Houthi advance. Mohammad Mokhber, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said the “homegrown resolve of the resistance” had pushed the United States and its allies into what he described as a tactical and strategic impasse.

The reported Houthi advance has added to growing concerns over security around the Red Sea, one of the world’s key routes for international trade and energy shipments.

Yemeni government forces have responded with air strikes along the western coast following the reported takeover. The development could further complicate regional shipping security as tensions remain high across the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia has also temporarily suspended operations on its East-West oil pipeline as a precaution after the facility was targeted by drones reportedly launched from Iraq. Riyadh has so far avoided immediate retaliation while Iraqi authorities take steps to prevent further attacks.

Meanwhile, Iran has continued to rule out negotiations with the United States unless Washington accepts Tehran’s demands.

Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of Iran’s parliamentary national security committee, said dialogue would have no purpose unless the United States agreed to all of Iran’s conditions.

“As long as the American side does not accept all of Iran’s conditions, dialogue and negotiation are of no use,” Azizi wrote on X.

In a separate statement, Azizi again ruled out talks, reinforcing Tehran’s position that negotiations will not resume until its demands are accepted.
