Karachi: The nation observed ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ (Day of Gratitude) on Sunday, celebrating the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos with rallies and public gatherings held across Pakistan.
Massive crowds took to the streets in major cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta, waving national flags and chanting slogans in support of the armed forces. From Karachi to Kashmir, participants raised slogans such as “Long Live Pakistan Army” and “Pakistan Zindabad.”
“Long Live Pakistan” rallies were also witnessed in Kandhkot, Kashmore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Gujranwala, Renala Khurd, Chiniot, Vehari, and Kasur. Similar celebrations took place in Swat, Mohmand, Nowshera, and Qila Bala Hissar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Citizens distributed sweets and paid tribute to the military’s achievements.
In Muzaffarabad, Jamaat-e-Islami organized a rally where the crowd chanted, “Kashmir will become Pakistan.”
The rallies followed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s call to mark the victory of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, launched in response to Indian aggression. Pakistan reportedly destroyed key Indian military assets, including BrahMos missile depots, the S-400 air defence system, and several airbases.
Later, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, brokered by the United States.
