Karachi:: A successful intelligence based Maritime Interdiction Operation was conducted in the Arabian Sea, resulting in the interception of a stateless vessel carrying a large quantity of illicit liquor concealed onboard and intended for unlawful distribution.
The operation was carried out through a coordinated effort by the Pakistan Navy (PN), Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC) and Anti Narcotics Force (ANF-Sindh) demonstrating effective inter-agency collaboration and operational synergy.
The success of the operation was enabled by timely intelligence sharing, real-time coordination and seamless execution by the participating agencies. The seized contraband, with an estimated international market value of over PKR 200 million, represents a major disruption to smuggling networks operating in the region.
The confiscated items have been formally handed over to ANF (Sindh) for further investigation and legal proceedings.
This operation underscores the robust synergy among Pakistan’s maritime and law enforcement agencies and reaffirms their collective resolve to combat smuggling, safeguard national maritime boundaries and contribute to regional security.
