Pakistan’s Embassy in Tehran has rejected social media reports claiming that Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, was attacked in the Iranian capital, describing the allegations as baseless and factually incorrect.
In a statement posted on X, the embassy said it was aware of reports circulating on social media and other platforms concerning the ambassador. It categorically denied the claims and urged the public not to rely on misleading information.
“The embassy categorically clarifies that these reports are baseless and factually incorrect,” the statement said.
Embassy Denies Alleged Attack
The clarification followed reports alleging that Siddiqui had been assaulted by several individuals while attending a gathering in Tehran.
According to the circulating accounts, the ambassador had received an invitation to the event before the alleged incident occurred. However, the embassy rejected the claims and did not provide further details about the reports.

The denial comes amid heightened regional tensions and Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement aimed at reducing hostilities between Iran and the United States.
Pakistan Continues Diplomatic Efforts
Pakistan has been involved in diplomatic efforts to help end the conflict between Iran and the United States, which began on February 28, according to the supplied report.
Pakistan’s mediation efforts contributed to an interim arrangement known as the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reached in June. However, the arrangement subsequently collapsed.
Qatar has since joined Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to help bring the conflict to an end.
The ongoing crisis has disrupted international shipping and global oil supplies, while tensions have also extended to Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
Nuclear Programme and Sanctions Remain Key Issues
Negotiations face significant differences over the issues that should form part of a potential agreement.
Washington wants Iran’s nuclear programme included in discussions aimed at ending the conflict.
Tehran, meanwhile, insists that its conditions must be addressed first. These include an end to the US blockade of Iranian ports and the removal of sanctions affecting its oil exports.
The disagreement continues to complicate diplomatic efforts as regional and international stakeholders seek a way to reduce tensions.
Pakistan’s embassy has firmly rejected the reports concerning its ambassador, while Islamabad continues its diplomatic engagement amid the wider regional crisis.
