New Horizons: Bahria University Health Sciences Campus Graduates 285 Students

Certificates of merit and medals were awarded

to outstanding students in recognition

of their academic excellence

Karachi: Bahria University Health Sciences Campus (BUHSC) Karachi celebrated its 11th Convocation Ceremony at the Ibn-e-Sina Auditorium, honoring the achievements of its graduating students. The event was conducted in two sessions, with prominent figures from the medical and academic community gracing the occasion.

Two Sessions Led by Distinguished Guests

The morning session was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi, President of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP), while the afternoon session was led by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The ceremony drew attendance from Pakistan Navy officials, the Registrar of Bahria University, and senior members of the health sciences and allied health fields.

Warm Welcome and Advice to Graduates

Vice Admiral (R) Ather Mukhtar HI(M), Director General of BUHSC, delivered the welcome address, expressing immense pride in the institution and congratulating the graduates for their dedication and perseverance.

He encouraged students to uphold values of integrity, compassion, collaboration, and innovation in order to address the evolving challenges of the healthcare sector.

Degrees, Oaths, and Awards

Following the welcome addresses, degrees were conferred by the respective Chief Guests. Major General (R) Shehla M. Baqai HI(M), Dean of Health Sciences and Principal of Bahria University Medical College, led the Oath Taking Ceremony.

A total of 285 graduates received degrees across various disciplines, including MPhil, MBBS, BDS, BS Nursing, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), and BS Medical Lab Technology (MLT). Certificates of merit and medals were awarded to outstanding students in recognition of their academic excellence.

Messages of Inspiration from Chief Guests

During the morning session, Professor Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi congratulated all graduates, particularly the gold and silver medalists, and acknowledged the vital support of their families. He emphasized the importance of resilience and integrity in the medical profession.

In the afternoon session, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed expressed his confidence in the graduates’ abilities to emerge as future leaders. He praised the organizers for the dignified ceremony and lauded the graduates for their hard work and sacrifices, offering prayers for their future success.

Honoring the Chief Guests

To conclude the ceremony, Vice Admiral (R) Ather Mukhtar presented convocation souvenirs to Professor Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed as tokens of appreciation for their presence and encouragement.
