Karachi: Naya Nazimabad hosted the five-day Jashan Azadi Sports Festival to mark Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day. The festival, which concluded with a vibrant ceremony, was a significant success. Over 1,000 athletes participated, showcasing their skills in twelve sports. These included cricket, football, badminton, squash, swimming, skating, cycling, tennis, table tennis, basketball, and archery.
Arif Habib, Chairman of Naya Nazimabad, expressed his satisfaction with the event. Notably, he emphasized that the realization of his “sports city” vision was a success. The state-of-the-art facilities at Naya Nazimabad provided the perfect venue for all the competitions. Additionally, Habib highlighted that the festival offered a platform for emerging talent and boosted confidence in the city’s sports infrastructure.
The festival ended with awards presented to standout athletes. Furthermore, the celebrations featured a stunning fireworks display and a lively music concert that delighted the audience.
In the Cricket Stars Premier League, YouTubers XI emerged victorious. Meanwhile, teams from Showbiz Eleven, TikTokers, and Instagrammers also competed. Naya Nazimabad’s CEO Abdul Samad Habib, Gymkhana President Syed Muhammad Talha, Senior Manager Muhammad Raheel, Manager Sports Muhammad Asif, and many enthusiastic citizens attended the event.
