KARACHI: MQM Bahadurabad headquarters witnessed an exchange of gunfire between two groups on Saturday, triggering panic and leaving two people injured.
According to initial reports, one group was holding a meeting at MQM Pakistan’s Bahadurabad headquarters when another group arrived at the venue. A verbal altercation reportedly escalated into an exchange of fire, causing chaos as people rushed to leave the area.
The panic during the incident resulted in injuries to two individuals. Authorities have not yet released their identities or confirmed the nature of their injuries.
Following the firing, shopkeepers in the surrounding area closed their businesses as a precaution. Police teams rushed to the scene and secured the area while beginning an investigation into the incident.
A large number of people remained gathered outside the Bahadurabad headquarters after the situation came under control. Police have yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the clash or whether any arrests have been made.
