Merged Districts KP CM Sets Three-Month Deadline to Improve Public Services

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi directs officials to accelerate development, strengthen education and healthcare, and improve governance across the merged districts.

Merged Districts must see noticeable improvements in public services within the next three months, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said.

He issued the directive during a meeting to review law and order, governance and development programmes in the merged districts.

Officials also examined progress on education, healthcare, public service delivery and ongoing development projects.

Development work to resume

Afridi directed authorities to restart development activities in North Waziristan within one week.

He instructed officials to deploy the required officers and staff immediately.

He said project work should resume without further delay.

Focus on education

The chief minister ordered special measures to bring out-of-school children back into classrooms.

He said the government has allocated dedicated funding for the initiative in the current fiscal year’s budget.

In addition, he instructed officials to fill teacher shortages on an emergency basis.

Security remains a priority

Afridi said the merged districts remain on the frontline in the fight against terrorism.

Therefore, the government will continue to prioritise these areas when distributing modern weapons and advanced equipment.

Healthcare services under review

The chief minister also reviewed the health sector.

He directed authorities to reassess the shortage of doctors in hospitals across the merged districts.

Furthermore, he instructed officials to recruit additional medical staff where required to improve healthcare services for local residents.
