Mango Diplomacy took centre stage in Karachi as the Karachi Marriott Hotel, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Foreign Affairs Liaison Office Karachi and the All Pakistan Fruit & Vegetable Exporters, Importers & Merchants Association (PFVA), hosted the Mango Diplomacy Fest at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom.

The event brought together members of the diplomatic corps, senior government officials, business leaders and representatives from Pakistan’s fruit export industry to promote the country’s world-renowned mangoes and strengthen international engagement.
First Lady Asifa Bhutto Zardari attended the festival as the chief guest.
Muhammad Irfan Soomro, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Liaison Office Karachi, welcomed the guests. Afterwards, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of promoting Pakistan’s agricultural exports and cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, the culinary team at Karachi Marriott Hotel prepared a special mango-themed menu featuring beverages, savoury canapés, gourmet hot dishes and handcrafted desserts.
The menu showcased the versatility of Pakistan’s premium mango varieties while reflecting the hotel’s commitment to culinary excellence.
Furthermore, the event concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields by the First Lady.
Karachi Marriott Hotel General Manager Raza Abbas delivered the vote of thanks before guests participated in a ceremonial cake-cutting.
Organisers said the festival highlighted the shared commitment of the Karachi Marriott Hotel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and PFVA to promoting Pakistan’s premium mangoes as a symbol of the country’s culture, hospitality and export excellence.
They also said the initiative aims to strengthen diplomatic goodwill while creating new opportunities for international trade and cooperation.
