Joe Keery has revealed that the cast of Stranger Things continues to stay connected through a group chat, despite moving on to new projects following the Netflix series finale.
The 34-year-old actor, best known for playing Steve Harrington in the hit science-fiction series, discussed the cast’s ongoing friendship in an interview with People during the opening night of his Broadway play, Other Desert Cities, last week.
Asked who was the most active member of the group chat, Keery suggested that Finn Wolfhard might be the one sending the most messages.
“Oh, man, maybe Finn [Wolfhard], I guess maybe, yeah, we’re keeping in touch,” Keery said.
His comments offer a glimpse into the friendships that have continued beyond the show, which brought its cast international recognition and a devoted fan following.

Sink has substantial theatre experience, having appeared in productions including Annie and John Proctor Is the Villain, the latter earning her a Tony Award nomination.
Keery recalled meeting Sink in London before she began performing in Romeo & Juliet in the West End. During their conversation, she encouraged him to give theatre a try.
“I saw her before Romeo & Juliet opened when I was across the pond, and she had some good words of advice and really kind of urged me to do [theater too]. She thought I would have a nice time,” Keery told People.
The actor’s remarks highlight how his former co-star’s experience helped encourage him to pursue a new stage opportunity.
Keery Praises Gaten Matarazzo’s ‘Rent’ Performances
Keery also shared an update on his communication with Gaten Matarazzo, who has been performing in the musical Rent.
The actor said he had been exchanging messages with Matarazzo as the production opened, expressing enthusiasm for his co-star’s work.
“And then I’ve been texting Gaten [Matarazzo] as Rent has opened, and yeah, he’s killing it over there,” Keery said.
Keery’s comments underline the continued support among the Stranger Things cast as its members pursue careers across television, film and theatre.
Although the series has concluded, the actors’ ongoing conversations and encouragement suggest that their relationships remain an important part of life beyond the show.
