Islamabad: At the GSMA Digital Nation Summit, Jazz leadership presented a bold roadmap for Pakistan’s digital transformation—emphasizing affordable smartphones, universal internet, and a shift to a cashless, inclusive economy.
CEO Jazz & Chairman Mobilink Bank Aamir Ibrahim and Jazz President Consumer Division Kazim Mujtaba took part in high-impact sessions alongside industry leaders and policymakers, stressing regulatory reforms, digital trust, infrastructure investment, and bridging rural-urban and gender divides.
Aamir Ibrahim called for universal, affordable internet access and supportive policies for telecom operators. “Access to the internet must be universal, regardless of location or gender,” he said, urging reforms in spectrum allocation and a favorable business environment. He also pushed for mandatory digital payment options at retail outlets, saying, “The real competition is not between fintechs—it’s a collective battle against cash.”
Kazim Mujtaba highlighted affordability and literacy as keys to closing Pakistan’s usage gap, especially for women and underserved communities. He showcased ApnaClinic, Jazz’s upcoming AI-powered healthcare platform, and FikrFree, an insurtech product for affordable health and accident coverage.
“Connectivity is no longer a privilege—it’s a lifeline,” he said, urging investment in women’s and youth’s digital skills to build an inclusive digital future.
