IU Singer Postpones Album Release and Cancels Concert Due to Health Issues

IU has postponed the release of her sixth studio album and cancelled her upcoming concert after worsening health issues affected her ability to perform.

The South Korean singer and actor shared the news in a heartfelt message posted on Berriz on July 20. She announced that her September concert at Goyang Stadium and the planned domestic tour would no longer take place.

IU said her chronic Patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction has recently become more severe. She explained that the condition now affects her day and night, making it difficult to regain her singing form.

“My ear symptoms have always fluctuated. However, they have recently continued for days at a time,” she wrote. She added that the persistent symptoms have made live performances increasingly challenging.

As a result, IU will also delay the release of her sixth studio album by several months. Although the album is complete, its promotional campaign depended on the scheduled concert and tour.

Meanwhile, the announcement comes during a significant period in the singer’s personal life. Earlier this month, reports claimed that IU and actor Lee Jong-suk ended their relationship after four years. However, the reports said the two remain on good terms.

Despite the setback, IU thanked fans for their continued support. She apologized for the delay and promised to return with a diverse new album. She also expressed hope that she and her fans would welcome 2027 together with renewed energy.
