According to the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, IT exports increased by 21% compared with the previous fiscal year. The sector also posted a trade surplus of 85%, reflecting strong export performance.
The ministry credited the achievement to government policies that support the technology industry, sustained assistance for exporters and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s focus on expanding Pakistan’s digital economy.
It said the IT sector has become Pakistan’s fastest-growing export industry, supported by initiatives designed to improve competitiveness and create new opportunities for technology companies.
Meanwhile, the government strengthened the industry’s global presence by organising Pakistan’s participation in more than 20 international technology exhibitions over the past year. More than 250 Pakistani IT companies and startups showcased their products and services to international buyers and investors.
In addition, IT industry representatives accompanied the prime minister on official overseas visits, helping businesses explore new markets, attract foreign investment and expand commercial partnerships.
The government also prioritised workforce development by providing training in modern digital and IT skills to more than 100,000 young people during the year.
Furthermore, authorities continued offering incentives for IT exporters, including the final tax regime and a 0.25% tax facility on exports. The ministry said these measures have strengthened the sector’s competitiveness and supported continued export growth.
