Karachi: Independence Day 2025 celebrations in Sindh will begin from August 1 and continue until August 14, with the theme “Marka e Haq, Jashn e Azadi”, as decided in a high-level meeting held at Governor House Karachi.

The meeting was chaired by Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori and Federal Minister for Education and MQM Pakistan Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. Senior MQM Pakistan leaders including Dr. Farooq Sattar, Anees Qaimkhani, Amin-ul-Haque, along with elected representatives and key organizational officials, were also present.

Daily Flag Hoisting, Fireworks and Public Ceremonies

According to the plan, daily flag-hoisting ceremonies will take place in neighborhoods, schools, colleges, and religious seminaries across Sindh. A major fireworks display and flag-hoisting ceremony is scheduled for August 13 at Five Star Chowrangi, while the main event on August 14 will be held at Governor House Karachi, which will be open to the public.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Governor Tessori announced that 500,000 national flags have been ordered for distribution, especially to children, as part of the public engagement drive.

“Pakistan is an Invincible Nation” — Tessori

Governor Tessori reaffirmed Pakistan’s strength and resilience, stating that the country has always responded boldly to its enemies, referencing the downing of five enemy aircraft, an act acknowledged by former U.S. President Donald Trump. He said the celebrations would showcase Pakistan as a proud, sovereign, and invincible nation.
