The Pakistan-US trade relationship was among the broader areas discussed as participants explored ways to strengthen commercial cooperation, increase exports and create conditions that could encourage greater investment.

Mian Zahid Hussain said Pakistan required long-term economic policies and greater stability to sustain business activity and attract investment. He stressed that consistent policies would give businesses greater confidence to plan investments, expand operations and contribute to economic growth.

The participants also examined measures to strengthen local production and improve Pakistan’s export capacity. They emphasised closer cooperation between the government and private sector, while calling for practical steps to create a more supportive business environment.

The delegation also raised concerns about the complexity of the tax system and urged authorities to introduce measures that could make it easier for businesses and traders to operate.

Dr Mubashir Chaudhry said the delegation’s visit was aimed at exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan. He called for greater facilitation of foreign investors and urged the government to develop an environment capable of attracting international capital and business partnerships.

Mian Zahid Hussain assured the visiting delegation that FPCCI would use its available platforms to raise the concerns and proposals of the business community with the government and relevant institutions.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on stronger cooperation among business stakeholders to support economic reforms, improve the investment climate and expand trade opportunities between Pakistan and the United States.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Mian Zahid Hussain presented shields to members of the visiting delegation as a gesture of appreciation.
