Research Laboratory on Natural Products inaugurated at Karakoram International university .The laboratory was officially opened by renowned scientist and Mustafa Prize laureate, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, who has also served as Coordinator General of COMSTECH and Director of the International Center for Chemical Sciences at the University of Karachi.
The inauguration ceremony coincided with the 1st International Conference on Chemistry of Medicinal Plants 2024 and was attended by Vice Chancellor of KIU Prof. Dr. Atta Ullah Shah, senior officials, professors, and students.
This laboratory marks a significant milestone in the university’s pursuit of excellence in scientific research and discovery. Equipped with cutting-edge technology and facilities, the laboratory will focus on the research and development of natural products, driving innovation and advancement in the field.The laboratory is well equipped with modern facilities being employed in natural products chemistry. The laboratory will be used for the training of MS and Ph D. students of the GB region.
Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary’s presence at the inauguration highlights the importance of this laboratory in the scientific community. His contributions to the field of natural products research have been invaluable, and his involvement with this laboratory will undoubtedly inspire and guide the next generation of researchers.
