ICMA: Justice (R) Muhammad Ather Saeed Calls for Stronger Rule of Law

KARACHI: ICMA Pakistan organised a Thought Leadership Lecture at its head office in Karachi, featuring former Supreme Court judge Justice (R) Muhammad Ather Saeed as chief guest and keynote speaker.

The session, titled “Strengthening the Rule of Law – Reflections from the Courtroom,” focused on constitutional principles, institutional responsibility and integrity as essential foundations of effective governance.

Justice Saeed Shares Judicial Insights

Justice (R) Muhammad Ather Saeed discussed his experience across several areas of law, including commercial, taxation, banking, arbitration and civil jurisprudence.

He highlighted landmark judgments from his judicial career that established precedents for future legal proceedings.

He also discussed the e-Courts Mission Mode Project and explained how technology is changing judicial processes.

According to Justice Saeed, digital reforms can improve access to justice while making judicial institutions more effective and transparent.

He stressed that the justice system must uphold the rule of law while embracing institutional and technological reforms.

ICMA Leadership Highlights Institutional Integrity

ICMA President Azeem Hussain Siddiqui recalled his longstanding association with Justice Saeed and described him as a mentor.

Siddiqui praised the former judge’s distinguished career and his commitment to the rule of law, good governance and institutional integrity.

Meanwhile, ICMA Vice President and Research and Publications Committee Chairman Muhammad Yasin welcomed the participants.

He said thought leadership programmes play an important role in promoting knowledge exchange and supporting informed policy discussions.

Event Concludes with Recognition

Karachi Branch Council Chairman Hakim Ali Jatoi delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the event.

He appreciated Justice Saeed, ICMA leadership, organisers and participants for contributing to the session.

ICMA also presented shields and souvenirs to Justice Saeed and senior members in recognition of their contributions.
