Pakistan Independence Day: China Reaffirms ‘Iron-Clad’ Friendship with Pakistan

KARACHI: Pakistan Independence Day has prompted Acting Consul General of China in Karachi Feng Deheng to extend warm greetings and congratulations to the people of Pakistan, reaffirming China’s commitment to the longstanding friendship between the two countries.

On behalf of the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi, Feng congratulated Pakistanis and members of all sectors across the consular district on the country’s 79th Independence Day.

He said Pakistan’s independence in 1947 began a journey of national development and progress. Over the past 79 years, he added, Pakistan’s government and people had worked to safeguard national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity while overcoming numerous challenges.

China-Pakistan Ties Mark 75 Years

Feng noted that 2026 also marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.

He said the two countries had maintained mutual understanding, trust and support despite changes in the international environment.

According to the acting consul general, China and Pakistan have developed an enduring traditional friendship through mutually beneficial exchanges and cooperation.

He described the bilateral relationship as a positive example of state-to-state relations and said cooperation between the two countries had continued to strengthen.

Commitment to a Shared Future

Feng said China stands ready to work with Pakistan from a “new historical starting point” to implement agreements reached by the leadership of both countries.

He said both sides would continue working towards a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.

He also expressed confidence that the countries’ “iron-clad friendship” would grow stronger through closer cooperation.

Feng concluded his message with prayers for Pakistan’s prosperity, strength, peace and the well-being of its people.

He also wished for the China-Pakistan friendship to remain strong for generations to come.
