High-Profile Event Held at Bilajio Banquet with Political and Administrative Leaders
A grand farewell ceremony was hosted by former Federal Minister for Petroleum Asim Hussain at Bilajio Banquet in Karachi in honour of DSP Salman Waheed, marking his retirement from service as SPS, DSP and SDPO Khawaja Ajmer Nagri.
The event brought together a large number of political, administrative, social and business figures from across District Central.
The ceremony was hosted by President PS-126 and Member Sindh Council Hassan Khan. Distinguished attendees included Deputy Commissioner District Central Taha Saleem, SSP Central Dr. Imran Khan, and Chairman Happy Palace Group of Schools and Colleges Muhammad Asif Khan.
Senior police officers, PPP district leadership, SHOs of District Central, assistant commissioners, and representatives from the business community also attended the event.
During the ceremony, Dr. Asim Hussain and retiring officer Salman Waheed were presented with a ceremonial sword (Zulfiqar) and commemorative shields as a mark of respect and appreciation.
Traditional Sindhi Ajraks and caps were also presented to honour the guests, reflecting cultural respect and appreciation for public service.
Speakers at the event praised DSP Salman Waheed for his dedication, professionalism, and efforts in maintaining law and order throughout his tenure.
They highlighted his role in strengthening public-police relations and said his services would be remembered as a model of commitment and integrity.
The ceremony was attended by PPP District Central President Sardar Khan, General Secretary Shehzad Majeed, senior DSPs, district officials, and various representatives of civil society and media coordination wings.
The event concluded with appreciation for the retiring officer’s service and prayers for his future well-being.
