Karachi: Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) organized a “Ma’rqa-e-Haq Solidarity Day” ceremony at the Institute of Business and Health Management (IBHM), where participants paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and emphasized the importance of national unity and patriotism.
Addressing the ceremony as chief guest, Pro Vice Chancellor of DUHS, Prof. Jahan Ara Hasan, said the victory of “Ma’rqa-e-Haq” had strengthened national cohesion and enhanced Pakistan’s international standing. She stated that the nation takes immense pride in its armed forces and their role in safeguarding the country.
Prof. Asima Faisal, while speaking at the event, highlighted the importance of promoting patriotism, unity, and social responsibility among students and educational institutions.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony jointly performed by Prof. Jahan Ara Hasan and Prof. Asima Faisal. A symbolic aircraft-themed activity was also presented to express solidarity with the armed forces and to encourage patriotic spirit among students.
Participants attended a special discussion focusing on the significance of “Ma’rqa-e-Haq” in the national context and its impact on unity and national morale.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the event, showcasing Pakistan’s cultural diversity through regional dresses, cultural stalls, traditional cuisines, and interactive activities. A specially arranged photobooth also attracted significant attention from attendees.
According to the organizers, the event served as an effective platform for promoting national harmony, cultural understanding, and community engagement within the university environment.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, organizers thanked all participants and contributors for making the event successful, stating that the programme further reinforced the spirit of unity, patriotism, and love for the homeland among students and faculty members.
