Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday formally launched the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS), a landmark digital platform aimed at simplifying and digitizing business registration and licensing processes across the province. The Go-Live Ceremony was held at a banquet in CM House, attended by Federal Minister for Investment Qaiser Shaikh, provincial ministers, secretaries, leading business figures, and government officials.

SBOSS a Transformative Step for Sindh’s Economy

Speaking at the event, CM Murad Ali Shah termed SBOSS a “transformative moment” for Sindh’s economy and governance. He emphasized that this initiative is a major step toward improving the ease of doing business and empowering the private sector. He announced that necessary legal steps are being taken to fully implement SBOSS and ensure a business-friendly environment in the province.

Improving Pakistan’s Global Business Rankings

The Chief Minister pointed out that Pakistan has improved its Ease of Doing Business ranking from 147th to 108th among 190 countries in recent years. He stressed the need for industrial development and stated, “To bring prosperity to the country, we must prioritize industrial growth.”

Fully Digital Licensing Process Introduced

Highlighting the digitization effort, CM Shah explained that the entire licensing process will now be conducted online, enabling businesses to apply and receive approvals electronically. “We must keep pace with the world or be left behind. Sindh will take the lead in industrial development,” he added.

SBOSS Features and Integration with National Systems

Launched under the World Bank-supported CLICK Project, SBOSS currently provides 32 e-licensing services across nine departments and will eventually offer over 130 services from 16 departments. The 24/7 platform is fully online and integrated with NADRA, SECP, 1LINK, and the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), enabling real-time ID verification and secure digital payments. It is the first business facilitation portal in Pakistan to use blockchain technology for transparency and data protection.

Next Phase to Include Provincial Expansion and Support Centers

CM Murad Ali Shah announced that future plans include the digitization of all regulatory services, establishment of Business Facilitation Centers across Sindh, and the launch of a 24/7 Digital Contact Center. “This launch is just the beginning. We are building a future defined by innovation, efficiency, and shared prosperity,” he said.

Federal Government Supports SBOSS Initiative

Federal Minister for Investment Qaiser Shaikh praised SBOSS as a significant move toward simplifying business operations. He highlighted the improving economic indicators, such as stabilizing currency and increasing foreign exchange reserves, and lauded CM Shah’s commitment to business facilitation. “The issuance of the first SBOSS license today marks a new beginning for Pakistan’s investment landscape,” he noted.

KDSP Third Chapter Inaugurated by CM in North Nazimabad

In a separate event, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah officially inaugurated the Karachi Down Syndrome Program (KDSP) Third Chapter in North Nazimabad, underscoring the Sindh government’s commitment to inclusive development and accessible disability services. The ceremony was attended by parents, therapists, community leaders, and volunteers, who celebrated a new milestone in inclusive service delivery.

KDSP Expands Therapy and Educational Services

Speaking at the event, CM Shah commended KDSP as one of South Asia’s most comprehensive institutions for supporting individuals with Down syndrome. “Karachi is home to more than 30,000 individuals with Down syndrome. These are not just numbers—they represent lives, dreams, and potential,” he said. The new center will expand annual therapy sessions from 30,000 to over 50,000 and will offer occupational, speech, and physical therapy, specialized education for young children, and vocational training in pottery, painting, and other skills.

Addressing Long-standing Community Needs

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to KDSP for addressing the needs of families long on the waitlist. “These families are finally being welcomed with care, dignity, and the promise of a better future,” he said. He reiterated his government’s commitment to public-private partnerships for disability services, saying, “Progress is not just about economic numbers but how we treat our most vulnerable.”

Expansion Plans and Support for Inclusive Infrastructure

CM Shah announced plans to establish similar centers in Hyderabad by December and promised full government support. “I want the Hyderabad center inaugurated before December 31,” he declared. He also offered KDSP space in the upcoming Inclusive City project, which will provide shared facilities for children with disabilities, including autism, at no cost.

Collaboration Key to Long-Term Impact

He called for donor involvement and assured that government infrastructure support will be available. A Down Syndrome Center is also being developed opposite Aga Khan Hospital. “This mission cannot be fulfilled by the public sector alone. We need dedicated individuals. There is no shortage of funds—only a shortage of commitment,” he added.

Recognizing Team Effort and Future Plans

CM Murad Shah praised KDSP’s dedication and urged his team to begin immediate work on Hyderabad facilities. “Children with Down syndrome have incredible potential. They deserve recognition, opportunity, and support,” he said. The event also featured speeches by Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon, DSPD Director Ali Allahwala, CEO Tabish She
