Bangladesh delivered a historic performance in Test cricket, completing a 2–0 series whitewash over Pakistan after securing a 78-run victory in the second and final Test at Sylhet.
Chasing a challenging target of 437 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for 359 on the fifth and final day, despite showing resistance in the middle order. Bangladesh needed just three wickets on the final day, while Pakistan required 121 runs to win but failed to reach the target.
The series began in Dhaka, where Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 104 runs in the opening Test. They carried that momentum into Sylhet, sealing another strong win to complete a rare and significant clean sweep against the visitors.
With this result, Bangladesh made history by achieving a full Test series whitewash over Pakistan, marking one of their most notable achievements in red-ball cricket.
Pakistan’s batting lineup collapsed under pressure in the final innings despite periods of resistance, ultimately falling short of the target and losing the match by 78 runs.
