KARACHI: Bahria University Rector Vice Admiral Abid Hameed attended a luncheon hosted by Dr. Danish Aman, Chairman of the Pakistan Tannery Association (South Zone), where business leaders and educationists discussed closer collaboration between academia and industry.

The luncheon was held at Hafiz Tannery and also recognised sponsors, well-wishers and donors who have pledged financial support for talented students admitted to Bahria University but facing difficulties in paying their tuition fees.

The event provided a platform for participants to exchange views on strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and the industrial sector, with a focus on promoting skill development, innovation and workforce readiness.

Speakers emphasised the importance of stronger academia-industry linkages to help prepare graduates for evolving market demands while contributing to Pakistan’s industrial and economic development.

The gathering brought together prominent representatives from the business community and the education sector, encouraging dialogue on future cooperation and collaborative initiatives.

At the conclusion of the event, Zahid Hameed, Senior Vice President of the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), presented an Ayat-ul-Kursi framed artwork to Rector Vice Admiral Abid Hameed as a token of appreciation for his participation.
