ASEAN Friendship Bowling Tournament 2025 in Karachi

Karachi: The Consulate General of Malaysia in Karachi successfully organized the ASEAN Friendship Bowling Tournament 2025 on Saturday, 23 August 2025, marking the third edition of this annual tradition since 2023 in celebration of ASEAN Day on 8 August. The event, held at Royal Rodale, DHA, showcased unity, cultural diplomacy, and friendship.

For the first time, a team from the Foreign Affairs Liaison Office (FALO) Karachi joined the tournament, strengthening cooperation and goodwill between ASEAN and Pakistan.

Mr. Irfan Soomro, Director General of FALO Karachi, graced the occasion as Special Guest. He inaugurated the tournament with the ceremonial first throw and also participated as a player.

Teams representing the Consulate General of Malaysia, Consulate General of Indonesia, Royal Thai Consulate, Vietnam Trade Office, Honorary Consulate of the Philippines, and FALO Karachi competed in a spirited atmosphere. Winners across team, men’s and women’s categories were awarded trophies and prizes, with the highlight being the presentation of the Golden Egg Prize.

In his remarks, H.E. Herman Hardynata Ahmad, Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi, emphasized that the tournament symbolizes ASEAN’s “unity in diversity” and reaffirmed the bloc’s commitment to building stronger ties with Pakistan through friendship and shared experiences.

The event concluded with a celebratory lunch reception and the presentation of appreciation plaques to ASEAN colleagues, FALO representatives, and partners.

The ASEAN Friendship Bowling Tournament 2025 once again highlighted ASEAN’s enduring spirit of unity while reinforcing its valued partnership with Pakistan.
