Ali Asghar Valika Championship Rana Irfan Wins Inaugural All-Pakistan Snooker Title

Rana Irfan claimed the inaugural Ali Asghar Valika All-Pakistan Snooker Championship after defeating Mubashir Raza 4-3 in a thrilling final held in Karachi.

The Punjab cueist produced an outstanding performance to secure the title. He compiled two century breaks during the final, including a superb break of 139 in the second frame and a match-winning break of 126 in the deciding seventh frame.

Mubashir Raza fought back strongly throughout the contest but narrowly missed the title after an evenly contested final.

Rana Irfan’s break of 139 stood as the highest break of the tournament. Several snooker enthusiasts also awarded him additional cash prizes in recognition of his achievement.

PIA Chairman Arif Habib attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and presented trophies and prizes to the players. He also announced a cash award of Rs300,000 for the champion.

Speaking to the media, Arif Habib praised the successful staging of the championship at Naya Nazimabad. He said efforts to promote sports would continue and described Ali Asghar Valika’s contribution to the development of snooker as unforgettable.

The closing ceremony was also attended by Abbas Valika, former world champion Mohammad Yousuf, World Home Snooker founder Waqar Alam, Tournament Director Mohammad Waqas, Naveen Perwani, Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana President Syed Mohammad Talha, Manager Mohammad Asif, and a large number of spectators.
