Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani has announced that internet services across the state will be restored in phases, with the process expected to be completed within two days.
Gilani said the first phase of the restoration has already been completed, while work on the second phase will continue over the next two days. He said the government plans to restore connectivity gradually rather than bringing services back across the entire region at once.
Under the second phase, DSL services in Muzaffarabad will be restored, while internet services in Bhimber and Mirpur will also be fully reinstated.
The prime minister said the phased approach was necessary for the restoration process and that residents should expect services to return progressively across different areas.
Gilani also clarified his earlier remarks regarding internet restoration, saying his statement had not been presented in its proper context. He said this had created different expectations among members of the public.
According to the prime minister, he had referred to a partial restoration of internet services and had not claimed that connectivity would immediately return across the whole of Azad Kashmir.

Turning to the government’s wider reform programme, Gilani said the proposed 100-day reform plan would be prepared through consultations with the public and relevant stakeholders.
He said the government intended to include public opinion and recommendations from concerned stakeholders as part of the reform process.
The prime minister also highlighted developments in the health sector, saying Health Minister Dr Mustafa Bashir Abbasi was actively working on related initiatives.
Gilani urged residents to give the government time to implement its plans and expressed confidence that the administration would ultimately exceed public expectations.
“Give us some time; God willing, we will exceed the expectations of the people of Azad Kashmir,” Gilani said.
