Emmy-winning voice actor Eric Bauza, known for voicing Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and numerous other Looney Tunes characters, has died at the age of 46, according to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner cited by Variety. The records listed hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the cause of death.
Bauza’s family announced his death in a statement shared on his Instagram account.
“Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly,” the family said. “More details to come.”
A Distinguished Career in Animation
Born on December 7, 1979, in Scarborough, Toronto, Bauza built a successful career in animation and accumulated more than 400 acting credits after making his debut in The Ripping Friends in 2001.

His credits included Coyote vs. Acme, Space Jam: A New Legacy and Looney Tunes Cartoons. He also lent his voice to characters in popular animated productions such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Rick and Morty and Minions & Monsters.
Throughout his career, Bauza received several industry honours, including three Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, and earned five Daytime Emmy nominations.
At the time of his death, he was preparing to voice Daffy Duck in Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical.

Warner Bros. Television Group chairman Channing Dungey paid tribute to Bauza, describing him as a unique talent who brought joy to audiences around the world.
Dungey also recognised Bauza’s contribution to preserving the legacy of legendary voice actor Mel Blanc, whose performances helped define generations of Looney Tunes characters.
Bauza’s work brought familiar animated personalities to a new generation of viewers, continuing a long tradition of voice acting that has made the characters enduring favourites.
