The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has partnered with the United Kingdom’s MOBILIST programme to attract greater private investment into Pakistan’s sustainable development and climate transition.
The partnership will focus on developing and supporting products that can be listed on the exchange, giving businesses new opportunities to access capital for sustainable projects.
MOBILIST to Support Pakistani Businesses
MOBILIST is a UK development finance programme that invests in listed products on public markets to mobilise private capital for emerging and developing economies.

The programme also conducts research on how public markets can help attract private investment and support sustainable development.
Through its partnership with PSX, MOBILIST will work with issuers and market intermediaries in Pakistan to identify products that could qualify for its support.
The programme can provide equity capital, technical assistance and advisory services to support initial public offerings and the development of new listed products.
UK Backs Climate and Development Investment
Alison Blackburne, Deputy High Commissioner Karachi, said the UK was proud to work with PSX to mobilise private investment towards businesses addressing climate and development challenges.
She highlighted the Parwaaz Green Action Bond as an example of how development finance and public markets can work together to attract private capital.
Blackburne said the approach could help drive economic growth and development in Pakistan while creating opportunities for the country’s trade and investment partners, including the UK.
PSX Sees New Opportunities for Sustainable Businesses
Farrukh H. Sabzwari, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PSX, said the exchange was proud to partner with MOBILIST to help businesses access Pakistan’s capital market.
He said eligible businesses could benefit from equity investment, technical assistance, advisory support and greater visibility as they prepare for listing on the exchange.
Sabzwari described the collaboration as an important step towards bringing more sustainable businesses into Pakistan’s public markets.
He said the partnership could help businesses develop projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and net-zero commitments.
The initiative is also expected to strengthen the role of Pakistan’s capital markets in supporting sustainable economic growth and the country’s broader sustainability agenda.
